I never used it because it had little useful information for me but now Google Webmaster Tools ultimate become interesting! The latest addition to Webmaster Tools provides a very comprehensive statistics on the keywords and keyphrases for which your site is found.
Above you see a screenshot of my art site. Google shows you which keywords for this was found in one breath but shows the number of impressions, number of click-throughs and the CTR of the search engine results. In addition, you also see how often you at specific positions in the search engine rankings and found all these statistics can also analyze this dimension.
Let’s see this one more time for my main keyphrase “Andy Warhol paintings’ (always think about your SEO;)). For this keyphrase, my site usually somewhere between 6 and 10 positions. Click on these positions around 8% of the searchers to my site. Conversely, if rank at position 2, then almost 18% of seekers. When looking at different keyphrases on this site is a position that a CTR of less than 55 to 75% CTR.
Position number 1 is worth gold!
3 to 4 times more visitors than position 2
10x more visitors than position 10
Of course these statistics are highly dependent on the type of content that you rankt, the attractiveness of your title and description (think of your meta description tag) and if your competitor delivers material more effectively. But because the differences are so vast, you can not underestimate the message: number 1 is really worth much more than number 2.
What are your CTR for the various positions?
