Spam on various blogs and Web 2.0 sites (social media, wikipedia, …) to go against Google in 2005 invented the nofollow tag. When this tag is placed in an outgoing link, that link is ignored by Google and will give away so no link love. Thanks to the nofollow tag was spamming these sites for SEO purposes at once impossible.
Another important reason for a webmaster to the external links rel = “nofollow” treatment to give, it was all so easy to distribute PageRank within your own website could be held. Thus, the example does not have to divide Pagerank 5 internal and 5 external (nofollow) separate pages, but she quite rightly to 5 internal pages. For internal PageRank sculpting (carefully selecting some nofollow links to internal pages more Pagerank-giving love) to go, but Google has recently changed this rule. From today, the PR to nofollow pages just lost. In the above example this means that half of the distributable PR would be lost (the nofollow left) and the other half of the 5 internal pages would be divided.
The latter, however, new rule takes away a major motivation for choosing nofollow. Outside preventing spam (which by the necessary moderation or plugins simply be severely reduced) there is absolutely no excuse themselves conservative to choose the nofollow tag. But is there a reason to deliberately choose to remove the nofollow tags for bloggers?
More and more bloggers choose to have nofollow tags (which are standard in their blog comments / trackbacks) to remove. This choice therefore called “dofollow”. We believe there are sufficient reasons for dofollow on your blog must choose:
Trackbacks: Other webmasters are very much aware of the nofollow content of many blogs. Sending a trackback (= tell your blog that a new link to that specific item was made) has no positive impact on the SEO of the trackback sender. However, if you activate dofollow, receives the other party is also a real link back. This incentive, much like the tradi-link exchange network can ensure that more is linked to your blog posts.
Comments: Here you give an incentive to the commenter in order to put something. As many commenters themselves webmasters / bloggers, they will definitely appreciate that they can link back. More comments on your blog will be sure to include your blog a more prominent appearance. Moreover, the additional content from the best commenters add value to your blog post.
There are certainly enough reasons to choose the dofollow. You will, however, stricter and more intensive these comments and trackback moderation should go to messages with too little added value. You can find the WordPress DoFollow plugins for our post about the Best WordPress Plugins.
